Hilary Duff Gives Update on Daughter Banks' Night in the Hospital

Healthy and happy! Hilary Duff spent a night at the hospital with her 7-month-old daughter, Banks, but the little one is doing well now.

“She’s fine,” the Younger star, 31, told Us Weekly exclusively on Wednesday, June 12, at the Saint by Ira DeWitt launch benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “She just had a little bug bite on her face, and it had a little infection. Cedars took care of us. They were really good. It was a long night in the hospital, but it was fine.”

The actress added: “She’s happy and on the mend, and she looks great.”

The Lizzie McGuire alum revealed that her baby girl had been feeling under the weather with a Monday, June 10, Instagram post. “Right home to a sick baby,” she captioned a black-and-white photo of Banks sleeping on her chest.

“Baba,” the singer’s fiancé, Matthew Koma, commented on the mother-daughter shot.

Duff elaborated on her Instagram Story, writing, “I actually have Banks’ vomit in my hair and I may or may not have the energy to bathe after a day with a sick baby and a night at the hospital. All I want is to watch Handmaids [Tale] ughhhhh.”

She and the musician, 32, welcomed their daughter in October 2018. She joined the former Disney Channel star’s 7-year-old son, Luca, who she welcomed with now ex-husband, Mike Comrie, in 2012.

“Banks Violet Blair,” the Texas native wrote on Instagram when her baby girl arrived. “This little bit has fully stolen our hearts! She joined our world at home on Thursday afternoon and is absolute magic.”

The “Dare You” singer honored the major moment with a post of his own, writing, “We welcome a beautiful daughter, little sister and best friend for life. Could not possibly be more grateful for our growing family and for the [woman] who makes it all possible. Cloud ten.”

Koma and Duff, who have been dating on and off since June 2017, got engaged last month.

The New York native is a great dad, according to the Gossip Girl alum. “He’s so sensitive and caring and in tune with everybody in his life,” she told Us on Wednesday. “He’s so supportive. He says the sweetest things.”
